Southern Region
John Conley, MBA
Regional Consultant, Southern Region
John Conley feels strongly that the staff sets the tone for any cosmetic practice and that helping them feel more confident and support the practice more effectively is what his work is all about. “I find each person’s strengths and then help them work toward agreed-upon goals by using those strengths. It’s important for everyone to, in essence, ‘take ownership’ for the success of a practice. I want them to understand that when the practice succeeds, so do they. When a doctor and his or her staff are working in tandem, that’s when a practice can grow.”
John brings a varied background to Mentor Solutions with a strong emphasis on business management. He holds an MBA from Rollins College, has managed lending offices in the consumer finance industry and spent eight years at Smith Barney as 2nd VP/Investments where he worked extensively with physicians and other business owners helping them meet their financial goals. John is a natural mentor to his practices, having taught college courses in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship.
“I believe in keeping things simple rather than attempting to make sweeping changes overnight. “I help the practice tackle their challenges by first determining what’s really important to them; and then helping them reach their goals.”
John’s main hobby is playing golf as well as being an ardent college basketball fan. His wife, Dana, is the daughter of Dr. James L. Baker, former President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. John, Dana and their son Jack live in Winter Park, Florida.
Janie Cimino
Practice Specialist, Southern Region
Janie Cimino spent 15 years as a cosmetic surgery practice administrator before joining Mentor Solutions. Prior to that, while attending the University of South Alabama School of Nursing, she worked in several medical specialties including internal medicine and cardiology. Janie says, “I worked wherever the practice needed me. I loved being around the patients and enjoyed helping make the practice run smoothly in every way I could.”
Mid-stream during college, Janie changed her major to business because the more she worked the “front end” in a practice, the more she became interested in improving the organizational flow through sound business principles. That combination of a nursing education and a business education makes Janie an ideal member of the Mentor team.
Janie first became familiar with Mentor’s Inform&Enhance® Software at a cosmetic surgery practice in late ‘90’s. “ The most exciting part for me, are the reports and marketing tools that are generated by the software. The whole staff can measure how the practice is doing and how they as individuals are doing.”
Now as a Mentor Practice Specialist, Janie wants to share her rich experience with the staff members at other cosmetic practices. She says, “You have to lead with the heart before you lead with the mind. What this means is that you have to motivate the staff to want to learn the software. And once they do, they’ll be as excited as I am.”
For the last 18 years, Janie has been bringing up her children Laura, Lisa and Bradford in Orlando, Florida where she lives now. Her interests include snow skiing and tennis.
When asked what is most exciting about being a part of Mentor Solutions, Janie says, “For me, it’s being part of an organization that is a leader in the field of cosmetic surgery marketing and business practices. Nobody is doing it like Mentor Solutions.”
