Like her Mentor Solutions counterparts, Sandy speaks from personal experience. She understands what it’s like to be an office manager or patient coordinator in a cosmetic practice office – because she’s been there herself. Before joining Mentor Solutions, she spent 15 years in the medical field – both in the cosmetic surgery field as well as in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Sandy understands that to be successful, cosmetic practices must adapt their sales and patient care processes to meet the unique needs of the aesthetic patient.
“Most recently, I spent four years working with a plastic surgeon who was just out of residency. I helped him establish his practice in the competitive Scottsdale, Arizona market. This experience was invaluable,” says Sandy. Working together, we achieved his goal of a 100% cosmetic practice within three years. Sandy is organized and process-oriented by nature. She says her emphasis on using Inform&Enhance® software optimally contributed significantly to this successful transition.
But Sandy brings much more to the practices she works with today than her knowledge and experience, she brings a passion for the work she does, an instinct for human nature, and a desire to see everyone succeed. Sandy says, “I think of myself a cheerleader. My goal is to be a welcome part of their team; someone who can motivate the staff and help them embrace whatever changes will make the practice stronger. But I also help them gain skills that increase their personal and job satisfaction. If I can get the staff excited about their jobs, to better understand the role they play in the success of the practice, and to improve the processes within the office…then they’ll feel the same satisfaction I felt, knowing I was making such a positive difference for our practice.”
Sandy loves spending time with her husband Bill and their two sons, Scott and Miles. Her hobbies are reading and sports.
Leslie Fenn
Practice Specialist, Northeast
Leslie Fenn believes that it is the job of everyone who works in a plastic surgery office to make their patients’ experiences rewarding – in fact, the best they can be. This is not an outsider’s point-of-view because Leslie has spent over 9 years in the trenches, so to speak, having worked as Office Coordinator for a thriving practice in Bloomfield, Connecticut. There, she did it all – handling patient flow, daily appointments, surgical scheduling, cash management, product training, product ordering, inventory, employee training and marketing.
As Mentor’s Practice Specialist in the Northeast region, she brings tremendous enthusiasm and value to every practice she works with because she thinks of herself as a “cheerleader” – whose job it is to get people excited about growing the practice. And she loves to teach proven strategies for success and help the staff make their job (and the physician’s job) easier. As she says, “Everyone has so much on their plate every day. Keeping things in balance is the key. That way, when the doctor is happy with the way the office is running, everyone is happy.”
Leslie loves showing people ‘proven solutions’ for practice growth, always emphasizing that the people who come into a plastic surgery practice have chosen to be there. They are not sick or injured. They want to improve themselves and it’s our job to help them attain their goals.
Leslie and her husband, Jamie, have been married for 6 years and live in Connecticut, where she has lived her whole life, other than attending Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. She loves to ski, swim and…shop. Leslie’s final words about the work she loves: “I like to make people happy and show others how to do the same.”
