Marie Olesen - Executive Consultant
Marie Olesen is a nationally known practice management consultant with over 20 years experience in the aesthetic field. As Executive Consultant for Mentor® Solutions, she develops innovative strategies that help practices differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market. Through her vast experience, she has developed a unique approach to evaluating practice performance, implementing sales systems and building teams to affect positive change. The metrics and benchmarks she developed are used throughout the industry to evaluate and improve aesthetic practice performance.
Marie is the Founder of Inform Solutions, which is now Mentor® Solutions. She is the CEO of La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, one of the country's largest all-cosmetic practices. The Centre was founded by her husband, R. Merrel Olesen, MD. Together, they established Inform Software in 1994. Marie was also the architect of INFORM&ENHANCE®, the industry's first personalized consent software program, and INFORM&CONSENT®. Both programs are used internationally in over 800 practices.
Marie is an accomplished speaker, moderator and teacher. She served on the ASPS Practice Development Committee where for many years she chaired the spouse program. Her articles have appeared in Plastic Surgery News, Plastic Surgery Products, and the APSA newsletter. Marie and her husband are co-authors of Cosmetic Surgery for Dummies, a consumer guide to aesthetic surgery.
G. Marshall Franklin, Jr. - Executive Consultant
Marshall Franklin brings an impressive educational background to Mentor® Solutions. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Master of Health Administration degree. Marshall spent over ten years serving as Executive Director in one of the largest plastic surgery practices in the US. He has extensive experience in practice and ambulatory surgery center operations, finance, cost reduction strategies, expansion and staff.
As Executive Consultant, Marshall provides consulting services that go beyond mere reports and numbers. He helps practices on day-to-day issues that are critical to their success. He enjoys helping Mentor's® clients become more vital and profitable.
Stephanie Gabriel - Senior Regional Consultant, Western Region
Stephanie Gabriel has over 15 years of sales and training experience with a decade concentrated in developing revenue strategies for aesthetic surgery practices. Her strong background in sales and marketing gives her a unique ability to successfully evaluate opportunities and create growth for her clients. She has a bachelor's degree in International Relations and English from the University of San Diego.
As a Senior Regional Consultant, Stephanie helps practices establish financial goals and implement systematic processes to achieve growth. She is highly data-driven, which enables her to set clear strategic direction for her clients, provide recommendations and measure results using tangible reports. Stephanie's main objectives are to help practices achieve their goals by strengthening infrastructure and establishing a clear methodology for success.
Vanessa Shadowen - Senior Practice Specialist, Western Region
Vanessa Shadowen has 12 years of experience in the medical field, several of which were as an operating room nurse. She worked closely with an aesthetic surgeon in the Chicago area, both in the office and in the surgery center. Vanessa also gained significant experience as a Patient Coordinator for an aesthetic surgeon in Indianapolis. She has a bachelor's degree in Nursing from Purdue University.
As a Practice Specialist, Vanessa is firmly committed to the idea that everything a practice does should assure patient satisfaction. She strongly believes in the effectiveness of INFORM&ENHANCE® software, and she helps practices understand how it can assist them in achieving their goals-particularly in the areas of patient satisfaction and financial success.
Ashley Cloud - Regional Consultant, Central Region
Ashley Cloud has a deep understanding of the inner workings of an aesthetic surgery practice. This is the result of many years of service at the Plastic Surgery Center of Atlanta, where she began as a Patient Coordinator. During this time, Ashley gained valuable experience working with INFORM&ENHANCE® software. She attended the University of Georgia where she majored in Communication Science Disorders.
As a Regional Consultant, Ashley helps practices understand the tremendous difference INFORM&ENHANCE® software can make in the success of their business. She does this by demonstrating how it keeps track of a practice's month-to-month performance. Her ultimate goal is to help the practices with which she is involved make informed decisions that drive growth.
Debbie Barwick - Regional Consultant, Ohio Valley and Atlantic Regions
Debbie Barwick has more than 28 years experience working in the aesthetic surgery field as a Practice Manager. This position has given her experience in many areas of the aesthetic practice including reception, insurance billing, scheduling and credentialing, financing, bill paying, ordering, marketing, hiring and staff training. Debbie has a bachelor degree in Health Care Administration.
As a Regional Consultant, she takes every opportunity to work closely with physicians to help their practices grow professionally. She looks at the whole picture and identifies the long-term potential in every practice - including what works well, and what should be working more efficiently. Debbie believes that a practice's staff is its most valuable asset, so she helps implement training techniques to maximize their effectiveness.
Carissa Hergert - Practice Specialist, Ohio Valley Region
Carissa Hergert has five years experience working as a Patient Coordinator/Office Manager in an aesthetic surgeon's office. In this role she used INFORM&ENHANCE® software to successfully make the practice more efficient and profitable. Carissa has a bachelor degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.
As a Practice Specialist, she customizes software for her clients, and trains physicians and their staff on its proper use. Carissa believes that a well-trained staff is a surgeon's best asset, and a significant influence on each patient's satisfaction with their surgical experience. With this in mind, she provides ongoing support to physicians by teaching staff members how to be most effective in growing a practice's revenue.
Renee Smith - Practice Specialist, Mid-Atlantic Region
Renee Smith has six years experience working in the aesthetic surgery field. She worked as a patient coordinator and practice administrator for an aesthetic surgeon in Atlanta, where she started as a receptionist and gained more important responsibilities during her tenure. She has a bachelor's degree in Finance.
As a Practice Specialist, Renee shares her wide range of experience with other practices. Because she has tackled the same challenges, she can empathize with the problems they face, increasing her ability to help them achieve their goals. Renee trains practices to use INFORM&ENHANCE® and InSched™ software. .John Conley - Senior Regional Consultant, Southern Region
John Conley has a varied career background with a strong emphasis on business management. He has managed lending offices in the consumer finance industry, and spent eight years at Smith Barney as 2nd Vice President of Investments where he worked extensively with physicians and business owners to help them meet their financial goals. John has an MBA and has taught college courses in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship.
As a Senior Regional Consultant, he helps practices overcome their challenges by first determining what's really important, and then creating action plans to help them succeed. He feels strongly that a staff sets the tone for any cosmetic practice. Making a staff feel confident and important to the success of the business is what his work is all about. Ultimately, he believes that when doctors and staff are working in tandem, a practice can really begin to flourish.
Janie Cimino - Practice Specialist, Southern Region
Janie Cimino offers Mentor® Solutions clients 15 years of experience as an aesthetic surgery practice administrator. She has also worked in several medical specialties that include internal medicine and cardiology. Janie attended the University of South Alabama School of Nursing, and she has a bachelor's degree in Business.
As a Practice Specialist, she shares her first-hand experience using Mentor® Solutions' INFORM&ENHANCE® software with clients. She motivates office staff to want to learn the software, and she helps them understand how the reporting and marketing tools measure a practice's growth
.Sandy Roos - Senior Regional Consultant, Northeast
Sandy Roos has over 20 years of medical field experience in the aesthetic surgery market and in internal medicine, ENT and cardiology. Sandy has worked as a billing supervisor as well as a practice manager. Prior to joining Mentor® Solutions, she spent four years as a practice manager and worked with the aesthetic surgeon to achieve his goal of having a 100% aesthetic practice within three years.
Sandy works closely with physicians helping them develop systems and processes that will make their practices stronger. Partnering with them, she assists in making strategic changes for their practice, opening up more opportunities for growth and hidden revenue while achieving organizational effectiveness.
In addition to her role as a consultant, Sandy presents annually at the ASPS and PSAA meetings, and Mentor® Solutions regional courses.
Leslie Fenn - Practice Specialist, Northeast
Leslie Fenn has been a professional in the aesthetic surgery field for over nine years. As the Office Coordinator for a thriving practice in Connecticut, she handled patient flow, daily appointments, surgical scheduling, cash management, product training, product ordering, inventory, employee training and marketing. She has a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Johnson & Wales University.
Leslie is a Practice Specialist who believes it is the job of everyone working in an aesthetic surgery office to make their patients' experience more rewarding. She teaches proven strategies for success and growth to practice staff, and she implements methodologies to help team members work smoothly and more efficiently. Ultimately, Leslie believes in keeping a practice in balance.
